Planning Ahead

Are you looking for an evening of adventure?  Do you want to do something meaningful with your kids, your parents, your fiance?

Then give us a call (517*782*3453) and sign up for our up-coming Night of the Amphibians, this Friday and Saturday (pick one, or both).  Show up a little before 7 PM on your chosen night(s), armed with your wellies, your dipnets, your flashlights, your cameras, and be prepared to go hunting for herps!

We will walk out to our Glacial Pond (a moderate distance, about half way across our property), where YOU, the visitor, will get to wade into the water in search of frogs and salamanders.  Our staff and volunteers will be on hand to help you ID your findings.

All captured critters will be released after we’ve ooo’d and ahhh’d over them.

Please leave all hand lotions, sprays, sanitizers, etc. at home.  Amphibians are very sensitive.  They breathe through their skin and any chemicals on your hands can be harmful to them.  You can wash and sanitize to your heart’s content when the program is over.

UPDATE:  We are still on for Friday night’s slog for frogs, but right now Saturday night’s program is looking iffy.  Bad weather.  Rain, cold.  The frogs will all hunker down in the mud, and smart folks will hunker down at home.
